Welcome!
The Racialized Staff and Faculty Caucus (RSFC) is a voluntary, employee-led community; grounded in shared experiences of racialization and systemic inequity within the university environment. As members of historically and marginalized communities, racialized employees often face challenges that remain invisible within dominant institutional cultures. This caucus seeks to provide a safe, affirming, and empowering space for racialized faculty and staff to connect, advocate, and thrive.
In the context of this caucus these are racialized individuals (who are not Indigenous, African Nova Scotian/Black, or White) regardless of their place of birth, immigration status or citizenship. Depending on the context, individuals identifying as members of this community may also be referred to as "Racially Visible", "People of Colour", or "Visible Minority." Please note that this description is used from the web page on Equity Deserving Groups at Dalhousie University, for more information please visit: https://www.dal.ca/dept/hr/employment_equity/definitions-equity-deserving-groups.html
This initiative aligns with the university's broader equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility (EDIA) commitments and reinforces the institution's dedication to creating a supportive and inclusive campus for all employees.
